Meet The Team

Helen

I’m Helen! I’ve been a florist since I left school at 18. I worked at the florist in Milton Keynes for a couple years before coming to Magnolia and just fell in love with Tring. I’ve worked here since 1998, and then got the opportunity to buy the shop in 2014. I was inspired and encouraged to go into floristry by my Granny, who was an avid flower arranger.

I love the fact that you never know what each day will bring, every day is different, and I love helping create either a gift that is meaningful, or my personal favourite is helping bereaved families choose their funeral tributes for a loved one, it’s the last thing you can ever do for someone, and it means so much! If I get anytime outside of work, my passion is reading and trying to catch up with friends.

Sally

Hi my names Sally and I’ve worked at Magnolias since 2017. I’ve been in the floristry industry since I was 16 as a Saturday girl and vowed I would never do it full time! Fast forward a few years, gaining all my floristry qualifications I then had an opportunity to teach at Oaklands college which I loved.

Opportunities arose in the college with one being able to demonstrate at Chelsea flower show. I’ve worked in a number of shops over the years and love my job (with magnolia being the longest!) I especially like creating bespoke funeral tributes, anything from a tractor to a dog it’s nice to use my creative skills. It’s the last thing I can do for a loved one and it’s a privilege to do so.

David

Hello I’m David! I started working at a garage as an apprentice to then owning a car bodyshop. Once I retired I decided to work part time as a delivery driver at Magnolia of Tring (almost 13 years now!) going from a male orientated career to a team mainly of women is a nice change (they treat me to the nice biscuits)!

The part I find most surprising working as a delivery driver is that people are always pleased to see me regardless of the occasion! When I’m not working you’ll find me on the golf course or watching golf and looking after my grandchildren.

Sue

Hello I’m Sue! The latest newbie at Magnolia. I first trained to be a hairdresser and did that for 43 years, I then worked in a high end fashion stall on the Berkhamsted market for 5 years.

After that I did some event work with Elaine, she then introduced me to Magnolia of Tring, I now help deliver flowers, helping in the shop and making lots of cups of tea! I enjoy working in the team and having a laugh with the girls!

Manisha

Hello my name is Manisha. After my computer science degree, I started my career as an IT Consultant working in the UK and abroad for 10 years. In 2005, after having a family, I made a decision to retrain as a florist and follow my love for flowers. Having achieved my Level 1, 2 and 3 in floristry, I opened my own floristry business in 2007 which I ran for 10 years. After this I became a freelance florist in London, mainly doing work for corporate events! I joined Magnolia of Tring in 2021 as part time so I can spend more time with family.

My highest accolade is receiving the City&Guilds Medal of Excellence and the City&Guilds Lions Award for Small Business Learner of the year! I always say it’s never too late to retrain in your career. I know that by nurturing and following my creative abilities, I have found a profession that I immensely enjoy and am proud of.

Marc

Hi, I'm Marc and I'm one of two drivers employed by Magnolia, I’ve been a part of the team since 2018. I've lived in Tring for almost 30 years and enjoy seeing people I know when I'm driving around in the delivery van, but the highlight for me is seeing people's faces light up when they answer the door and see me standing there with a beautiful bunch of flowers.

Outside of work I enjoy playing golf, supporting West Ham, visiting art galleries, going to the theatre, checking out new restaurants and holidaying.

Elaine

Hello I’m Elaine! I have always loved flowers and even from a very young age I use to pick flowers from my mums garden and made perfume (it smelt awful) but I loved making it. I then started work in a flower shop as a Saturday girl aged 14 and then full time at 16. I proceeded to get taking my City&Guilds 1, 2 and 3 and then onto the intermediate and diploma exams which

I passed with distinction (5 years of training in total!!). I trained in London and entered many competitions which I had a lot of success and won florist of the year! I have been a florist forever and I absolutely love it!

Georgia

Hello I’m Georgia! I’ve worked at Magnolia for 5 years now (6 in November!). I first started here when I was at college completing my level 2&3 City and Guilds for floristry.

I love my job because I love to be apart of something bigger than flowers, whether that’s weddings, funerals or day to day orders!
